Q: What is a 'Student Rewards and Recognition' plan?
A: When students participate in surveys and contests, the organizers sometimes use TechCASH value for incentives/prizes. For accounting purposes we deposit these funds into a plan separate from the regular TechCASH plan. The TechCASH system will look at this plan first for purchases, and if there is not enough value in this plan, will automatically draw from the regular TechCASH plan.

Q: My balance should be higher than what I saw at the cash register, what should I do?
A: First, check your account management page to see if you have more than one 'plan'. A plan is how we store funds within accounts. If you have multiple plans (like a rewards plan) then the registers only show the balance from the plan the purchase was made from.

Q: What is the procedure for adding TechCASH funds via the website?
A: For Students: Go to http://techcash.mit.edu and choose "Quick Deposit" to the left of the screen. Your choices will be via a Credit Card deposit, or Student Account statement billing. For Friends & Family of the Student: Go to http://techcash.mit.edu and choose "Quick Deposit" to the left of the screen. You will choose the Credit Card deposit tab. Complete the information on the form and the funds will be immediately accessible. You will receive a credit card receipt back to your e-mail.

Q: Are there any other ways for Students to add funds to their TechCASH accounts?
A: Yes. You may come to the TechCASH counter in the Card Services Office, W20-021, 8:30am-4:30pm, present your ID card, and the funds will be added via a card reader, and the bill will go directly to your Student Account statement. (MITPay)

Q: How do I pay for the TechCASH funds that are added to my ID card?
A: The TechCASH Office, in Card Services W20-021, does not accept cash, checks or credit cards. When adding TechCASH to your ID card, in person or the web site, and billing Student Accounts, you may either wait for the transaction to be posted to your statement (MITpay) or you may go to Student Services, 11-120, and place the funds as a credit against your account.

Q: How do I log-in for guest access?
